Happy Times

I went running this morning and now my hip is really bothering me. It's strange how sometimes different things will make it act up and other times they won't. It's so unpredictable. Still, I conquered that hill again today, and if I can conquer that I can surely conquer the mess downstairs and a few boxes upstairs too. Surely I could even conquer the whole house! :)

I also keep thinking about how far I've run since May. I need to put my little ticker up on this new blog. But I have run either 72 or 74 miles, and that's almost the whole length of the trip I would take to the valley for doctor appointments for my last three babies. Except that I was living in the valley for most of the time I actually went to that particular doctor when I was going to have Michael. But that's a whole 'nother story. :) Anyway, that is incredible to me. It makes me want to keep it up and see how many miles I can rack up. Wouldn't it be cool if I could rack up enough miles to have run all the way back to Globe? That would be neat!

I was reading my scriptures this morning and came to the part in Second Nephi where he talks about people saying, "Eat, drink, and be merry," and "All is well in Zion." another thing they say is that God has done his work and ther will be no more miracles. What an awful thing to believe! I'm thankful to be able to say that I know that God is still a God of miracles! That one fact brings me a lot of happiness. :)

One other thing that makes me happy is how in the morning after I run Hyrum is awake and I can spend a little time chatting with him. And then little Timmy joins the party and he is squishy and fun to smooch. I love my family so much. :)

Church

We have officially lived here in Cedar City for whole month tomorrow. I like it so far.

One of the things I like best about our new ward is the abundance of children. We have two nurseries and plenty of kids in Primary. That's nothing compared with the four or five nurseries we had when we lived in Mesa, but it's a lot more than we had in Miami Ward. I also like that there are a bunch of little boys just about Timmy's age. He seems to be a little older than all of them, and he also seems to be about twice as big. I enjoyed watching him follow his curiosity at church today when he discovered another little boy. It was cute. But he did seem rather huge next to the other little guy. I do love Timmy's chubbies.

I love that all of our children have made the transition to the new Primary so smoothly. They're all happy. I'm so thankful. Michael has even been leaving his blanket home. That is huge. I'm glad he's that comfortable with his new Primary. I'm glad they all are. It makes me so happy.

I also love that Timmy is starting to stand on his own just a little. Today he stood for about five seconds. He doesn't have much interest in trying to walk on his own yet, but that will come soon enough. I love that cute, slobbery boy.

Today I tried and tried to do a video tour of our new house and send it to my list of peoples, but I couldn't get it to upload anywhere. So I gave up and took little videos of Timmy crawling up the stairs while Jill and I cheered him on and also of all three of us playing for a bit at the top of the stairs. I really liked that.

This Little Fella...

is learning to stand on his own!  He's been pulling up for a good while now, and yesterday he pulled up on me as I was standing up in the hall at the top of the stairs.  He let go because I had moved, and he stood there for a few seconds looking so pleased with himself before he fell down on his bottom and went on with his usual business.  I have the feeling that if he could stop fussing today he'd have a heyday trying to walk. :)

Happy Little Things

1. I went running again today, and ever since I have been way happy.  It's better than caffeine! :)
2. I read my scriptures and came across this one: "Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another." Romans 14:19
3. Jeremy and I are headed to the Temple today.  I get to go and hold his hand the whole way there and back. :) And I get to go to the St. George Temple.  He's been there once.  I haven't been there at all.  It's pretty exciting.  And we found 2 cute girls who will watch our children while we're gone.

   Yesterday at our ward party Joshua met the lady who will be his school teacher in the fall.  She is our Relief Society President, and I think she will be a great teacher for him.  I'm so thankful!  And not only that, he kept telling me for the rest of the party time that he liked her so much he wanted to meet her again. :)
3. Jeremy helped some new neighbors move in yesterday, and they have a little girl just Jill's age.  That's one of the things I was excited about when we were just in the planning stages for moving here - girly friends for Jill.  It'll be great. :)
4. I think it's funny how we asked for babysitters and the people in the ward said, "Oh, you need somebody to tend your kids?  These girls are good tenders."  Utah is a different world, I tell you.  But it's a happy one. :)

Little Boys

A few days ago we were at the aquatic center and I was scooting around the pool holding Timmy.  A little boy came up to us and said, "What's his name?"  "Timmy," I said.  Then the boy turned to Timmy and said in an excited voice, "Hey!  You're cool!  You're big!"  Timmy just grinned like that was exactly what he wanted to hear.  And that was that.
